The Hellyer 2010 American Velodrome Challenge will be held on June 11-12 and will feature the inaugural Masters Keirin World Championships. Details about the prize list will be available by April 1st; it's expected to be similar to 2009. The 2010 AVC will have two significant changes. 1) Registration and qualification for
the 2010 American Velodrome Challenge as
described below. PRE-QUALIFIED MEN (No qualification for
Women or Masters) 1) A top-10 results at 2009 USAC National Elite Track Championships or the Elite National championships of the rider’s home country in Sprint, Keirin, Omnium, Scratch, or Points. 2) A member of a UCI pro team, road or track. 3) Participate in any UCI World Cup or
recognized UCI Track Championship event. QUALIFYING RACES 1) The top 8 riders in an omnium format across the first two “Get Ready for Summer” races at Hellyer, March 27th and April 17th. 2) Eric Kautzky Track race, Alpenrose, May 8, 2010: top 5 in the P12 Omnium 3) Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series Race #2, Encino Velodrome, April 17, top 5 in P12 Omnium 4) Marymoor, Top 5 riders from the 2009
P12 season AVC REGISTRATION TIMELINE Registration opens May 9th on a first come first serve from those riders either Pre-Qualified or from Qualifying Races. If space is still available, non-Northern California riders who have not qualified may send promoter their Race Resume and if request is granted, may register beginning May 16th. If any open entry openings are still remaining they will be filled from the Get Ready for Summer Omnium May 15th. These riders may begin registering on May 16th. |
