Women’s Training and Racing Programs
Cyclist Genevieve Fire 1975
We have several programs geared toward bringing more women in to track cycling. Whether you are interested in racing or just learning more about track cycling for fun – we encourage you to
- Attend a Saturday morning session (or two) – great way to build your fitness and learn track skills
- Bring a girlfriend or your daughter to the weekly Intro to Racing sessions or Skills training sessions. Learn what its like to race in the track in a fun, low key environment
- Join one of our fun, scheduled programs, targeted specifically for women. Some examples are below:
Annual Women’s Race Training Series (formerly the Annual Women’s Track Clinic)
The sessions are perfect for those who currently race on the road but have not yet completed their requisite 3 Saturdays to race on the track. Women who have always wanted to learn and try track cycling are also welcome. We will cover fixed gear riding/racing, bike handling and track-specific skills, as well as mock races and strategy. Rental track bikes are available.
The Hellyer Women’s Team Pursuit Program (HWTPP) started in June 2012. Over 40 women participated in the program for fun, fitness/ training and learning.
